Because you sometimes donate and you don't know who you donating to, or you are not being updated as to where the money goes... it often ends up in the hands of an oppressing side, thieves and the likes. Not only that, but for
Another subject comes to mind, when talking about helping others in other countries rise out of poverty, and that is immigration. Often we see members of broken up families trying to make it in another wealthier country while leaving behind their spouse or children. Some are going for bust, not thinking about the consequences when reaching new land, or even the way they are reaching it. Lastly, there is the issue of keeping their traditions (religion or other) alive in the new country, whilst never returning to their own land once their situation improves. Conflicts arise, one country will still be poor, another will still be wealthy, and the answer to the question "What have we achieved?" will never have a definite answer.
These being some of the reasons why integration in a new country is often difficult for most, not impossible for some, though. But the most important case in point is jobs, or the way someone gives a job to someone else. It is of great dissapointment when someone misuses someone else just because they need a post somewhere, somehow. The best way would be for a small involvement, then a small investment to appear in the skies of the third world nations.
